Donald Webbe, President of Matrix Applications, has been named a finalist for Director of the Year at the 2026 US FinTech Awards.
The category honors leaders who are shaping the future of financial technology in the United States. Donald's selection reflects four decades of operational expertise, steady leadership and a lasting commitment to clients, colleagues and community.
Donald began his career at Citigroup in 1986. Over fifteen years, he rose to Vice President. He oversaw middle and back-office functions across finance, funding, futures, and emerging markets operations. He also built deep expertise in foreign exchange, derivatives, and securitization.
In 2001, Donald joined South Street Securities Holdings as Head of Operations. He was part of a small group from Citigroup who set out to build something of their own. Twenty-five years later, he remains at the center of that story.
Today, Donald serves as President of Matrix Applications. He oversees technology infrastructure, system support, operations, and software development. He is also Chief Operating Officer of South Street Securities LLC. He brings decades of operational discipline, a deep understanding of how institutional markets run and a client-first approach that shapes every platform the firm delivers.
Donald's impact reaches well beyond the firm. In May 2026, he received the Richard Adams Leadership Award from Fiver Children's Foundation. Founded in 2000, Fiver makes a 10-year commitment to young people ages 8 to 18 from under-resourced communities in New York. It offers summer camp, year-round programming and family support at no cost to families.
