At Matrix Applications, we are kicking off our #EmployeeSpotlight series to showcase our talented and trusted team members. Meet our Product Manager, Jesse Eberle:
Tell us about yourself.
"I graduated from Cornell University in 2007 with a degree in Applied Economics and Management. Before joining the Matrix team in early 2021, I assisted several primary broker dealers in an operational capacity including Back, Middle, and Front-Office positions. I also sat on a Credit Sales desk, ran Post Trade Product Strategy at a major interdealer broker and even managed an Electronic Trading desk in the US credit space."
What is your current role at Matrix Applications and what responsibilities are associated with the position?
“I work at Matrix Applications as a Product Manager. Within this role, I took on the responsibilities of creating new product ideas, addressing client satisfaction, and managing development projects across our various platforms. I oversee and assist with issues that may arise in our systems and work on product enhancements to ensure we maintain the optimal end user experience.”
Why did you choose Matrix Applications?
“While reflecting on the different jobs I had held for multiple firms over the years, it became clear that my real interest for a landing place was in the FinTech field. With this in mind, I began looking for roles that fit my skillset. My job search led to offers from some bigger companies, but I really liked the feel of a close-knit firm like Matrix Applications. I felt that it would be a better place to build on what I had learned in the space, and I was right.”
What do you enjoy most about working at Matrix? How would you describe the company culture?
“My love for Matrix largely consists of the company’s culture. While Matrix has the expertise and potential of a larger, more established firm, it still has the feel of a start-up—a combination that is hard to find. Additionally, one of the best things about working for Matrix is the relationships that colleagues share. The office culture is very family-like. Everyone is able to contribute ideas and be heard which is crucial for maintaining happy employees and a healthy work environment.”
What is one piece of advice you'd like to share?
“I would definitely say that the focus should be on the future of the financial sector and corporate world as a whole. The future is one that embraces technology, including but not limited to high frequency trading, API connectivity, blockchain & distributed ledger tech, and a general focus on speed and efficiency. The end-goal of this business isn’t going anywhere. What is changing is the way that firms are achieving their goals.”
